The Little Trullo

The Little Trullo is a classic “Trullo Salentino” or more correctly expressed a pajara, a building made of dry stone which has been used a long time ago by the local farmers as a refuge. The restoration of the original building had been ended in March 2019 and in chronological order it is the last accommodation for the holiday which has been established in the Residence degli Ulivi situated on the top of a hill over the sandy beaches of the Marina of Pescoluse (Municipality of Salve), approximately 10 km west of Santa Maria di Leuca, at the southernmost point of Salento and at the beginning of the Ionic coast.
Starting from the ancient original building with its two metre thick walls which helps maintain a mild temperature during the winter and a fresh one during the summer, the Little Trullo is now equipped for hosting only two people. It has been transformed into an original and particular accommodation for people who are looking for an alternative holiday in an ancient building in the midst of the nature without renouncing any of the comfort of a normal house. The dining area is outside under a canopy. It has a small kitchen with a small stove top, fridge and freezer, micro wave and a small stone barbecue. The bathroom is complete with a shower and a washing machine. There is a lot of warm water because of solar energy.
The furniture is new and modern and the accommodation also has Wi–Fi, SAT–TV and air conditioning cold/warm. A large and comfortable parking and a external shower are situated near the trullo. This is all immersed in a private 8000 square meters olive orchard: a secluded location which grants tranquillity and privacy. The Little Trullo is an ancient stone building, surrounded by green, perfect for nature and camping lovers and consequently it can not have the same characteristics and the same comfort as a modern city flat.
All the accommodations and their systems have been constructed according to security laws and there is no danger in using them properly. The water of the reservoir is drinkable but we recommend boiling it for alimentary use. The Little Trullo will be furnished clean with bed–linen and towels. The weekly change is included in the price. Pets are welcome if they don’t disturb the neighbourhood.

For all those who want additional information on the various houses of the residence, there are some reviews written by our guests over the years.
