The Small Liama

The Small Liama is a traditional quadrangular shaped building made of dry stone. Compared to the trullo, the liama has a larger terrace from which it takes its name. In the Salentine dialect in fact “liàma” means terrace. Used in the past by the local farmers as a refuge this building has been restored recently and was finished in spring 2016. It is chronologically the fourth holiday accommodation in the Residence degli Ulivi situated on the top of a hill over the sandy beaches of the Marina of Pescoluse (Municipality of Salve), approximately 10 km west of Santa Maria di Leuca, at the southernmost point of Salento and at the beginning of the Ionic coast.
After the restoration of this accommodation it was equipped with a small bedroom for two people, a bathroom. Outside there is a kitchen on a covered terrace which is adjacent to the kitchen of the Large Liama; from the terrace you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view on the marvellous landscape of Salento and its crystal–like sea. The furniture is new and modern and the liama has Wi–Fi, air conditioning warm/cold, a lot of warm water because of solar energy and a washing machine. A large and comfortable parking is situated near the liama as well as a stone barbecue. All of this is in midst an 8000 square meters private olive orchard around the building.
All the accommodations and their systems have been constructed according to security laws and there is no danger in using them properly. The water of the reservoir is drinkable but we recommend boiling it for alimentary use. The liama will be furnished clean with bed–linens and towels. The weekly change is included in the price. Pets are welcome if they don’t disturb the neighbourhood.

For all those who want additional information on the various houses of the residence, there are some reviews written by our guests over the years.
